Lebanese Director General of Post, Dr. Mohammed Youssef, stressed that the promotion of young talent in Lebanon is essential to motivate their confidence in their country as well as to develop the capabilities of the State to draw a clear plan to choose the elite and enhance their skills in various fields and international forums.
He added that Sara Jadid ’s accomplishment – in winning the first prize in the Universal Postal Union’s contest in Bern is a great achievement for the Lebanese and a pride. It is a call to consider this an indication of our country’s continuous creativity amid the chaos of the region.
Youssef’s speech was made during a ceremony honoring thirteen year-old Sara, who is a supplementary school girl in Beddawi, in the North of Lebanon. The ceremony was held at LibanPost ‘s headquarters in Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport area.
Chairman of the Board and Director General of LibanPost Khalil Daoud said Sara is the new future of Lebanon. He added that creativity is not restricted by sectarian and ethnic affiliations, but is more the result of suffering and dreaming combined.
Daoud added: We have to work seriously, in the public and private sectors together, to avoid talents like Sara’s from turning into immigration and moving far away from home. Instead, we sure ensure its stability and development possibility by giving them the appropriate climate and allow them to develop their culture far from a corrupted environment.
He explained that Jadid ‘s letter was the winner between two million letters written from all over the world. This is evidence that Lebanon is not measured by its geographical size but by its civilization’s size.
It is worth mentioning that LibanPost presented a certificate of appreciation to Sara as well as a gift, which was a sum of money destined to cover part of her education expenses during the next three academic years.
